Day 8 - Excursion To Phillip Island Penguin, Brighton Beach, Moonlit Sanctuary
- Departing Melbourne around midday, our adventure begins with a visit to the iconic Brighton Beach bathing boxes, one of the city's most vibrant attractions. Spend some time at the beach, admiring these historic landmarks that offer a unique glimpse into Melbourne's cultural and seaside heritage.
- Next, we head to the Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park, where you'll enjoy a guided wildlife walk and have the chance to hand-feed various native Australian animals. Immerse yourself in the rich biodiversity, learning about iconic species such as kangaroos, koalas, emus, and wallabies, as well as lesser-known favorites like quolls, owls, bandicoots, and Tasmanian devils.
- At the sanctuary, witness the captivating "Conservation in Action" wildlife show, which showcases several lesser-known Australian species through interactive ranger presentations.
- Continuing to Phillip Island, we stop at Point Grant and The Nobbies to enjoy panoramic views over Westernport Bay and Bass Strait, including Seal Rocks, home to Australia's largest population of fur seals.
- The highlight of the day is the Phillip Island penguin tour, where just after dark, the world's smallest penguins make their way ashore after a day spent fishing at sea. Your guide will ensure you have the best vantage point to witness this natural spectacle up close as the adorable penguins waddle ashore on their journey back to their homes.
- After the Penguin Parade, there's ample time to explore the visitor centre and learn more about these fascinating creatures before we begin our journey back to Melbourne.
